Senior Management Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant in a large high profile higher educational institution based in central London.

Main Role and Responsibilities of the Management Accountant include:
• To Lead the budget and forecast process within the External System in line with university processes in order to ensure a robust reporting system for budget holders
• Work closely with budget holders and senior managers in the External System to build a culture of financial awareness and to promote good practice among non-financial staff.
• To Ensure the availability of comprehensive financial reports and key performance indicators on a monthly basis that analyse expenditure according to agreed allocation by budget holder, academic programme and Lead College so that financial performance can be proactively managed and interpreted in a fair and transparent.
• To be the key conduit for financial information, analysis and approvals between the External System and University Finance Division to ensure clear communications and encourage sharing of best practices..
• To manage and supervise an Accounts Assistant
• Assist the Finance Manager in any ad-hoc reporting or accounting as required.

Skills required of the Management Accountant include:
• Having in depth knowledge and understanding of management accounting rules and regulations
• Proven competence in analysis and reconciliation work
• Having previous experience of Management Accounting in a not for profit or educational institution
• Be a qualified CCAB accountant or an international equivalent.
• Encouraging sharing of ideas in planning, objective setting and working methods
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
