Finance manager

Robert Walters?'s client, a large membership body are looking for a finance manager for a period of 6 months.

Do you have previous experience of:
? Managing the provision of a financial accounting service
? Development and maintenance of financial procedures and control
? Reviewing and improving all financial controls in the financial accounting section
? Reducing the time for the month-end processes, thereby allowing earlier production of the management accounts
? Addressing recommendations of internal audit and external audit
? Completion and maintenance of finance procedures manual
? Review and maintenance of Financial Standing Orders
? Review and maintenance of Expenses Policy
? Managed a team of up to 13 with 3 direct reports
? Treasury management
? VAT compliance
? Public sector accounting,
? SORP 05 - essential

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with previous experience of working in a senior position within the public sector. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to lead and develop a team and be able to deliver statutory accounts to strict deadlines. You will also posses excellent communication skills and the ability to work on your own initiative is essential.
