Teaching Assistant

A welcoming primary school, serving a diverse culturally mixed community of East London, requires a Teaching Assistant.

The post is to support a Year 5 pupil who has a statement of Special Educational Needs, on a relief basis, to help reduce barriers to learning and enable the child to fully access the curriculum.

This is a varied and interesting role – duties include the preparation of teaching materials and displays, working with small groups or with individual pupils, assisting in classroom active learning as well as giving administrative support to the class teacher.

This role would involve both supporting literacy and numeracy activities, working with children with a range of abilities, running in-school programmes for key children and playtime supervision

Please note the following requirements prior to applying for this position:
- You must have good spoken English;
- You must have a minimum of 6 months child related experience;
- Your CV must cover the last 5 years employment history and any employment breaks must be explained;
- You need to supply two recent references of which one must be from a school setting;
- This position is subject to an Enhanced CRB Disclosure.
