Year End Accountant

A high profile museum based in central London is looking for a year end accountant to assist with the year end statutory accounts

Main Role and Responsibilities of the Year End Accountant include:
• To assist the Head of Finance in the preparation of the year end schedule
• Consolidations of branch and national accounts to the central finance function
• To have final responsibility in the preparation of year end and statutory accounts which may include the annual return and/or tax returns
• To control and maintain the nominal ledger and set up all new nominal ledger accounts during the year with a view to ensure consistency across the department
• Ensuring that all reconciliations are conducted efficiently and according to the timescales outlined by the department.
• Liaise with the auditors as required during the year end period
• Assist the Financial Accountant in any ad-hoc reporting or accounting as required.

Skills required of the Year End Accountant include:
• Having in depth knowledge and understanding of financial accounting rules and regulations
• Proven competence in analysis and reconciliation work
• Be a qualified CCAB accountant or an international equivalent.
• Encouraging sharing of ideas in planning, objective setting and working methods
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience of SORP is essential
