An Overview of Adult Mental Health Services Course - Saturday 30th January

Tradewind Recruitment will be holding their first CPD Course of 2010 on Saturday 30th January.

TRAINER:

Keith Revoir, Approved Mental Health Professional (Mental Health Act 2007) and Community Mental Health Practitioner.

Keith has worked in mental health services since 1992, and has combined ‘hands-on’ practice with a number of quality assurance and development roles, both in mental health and in Children’s Services.

DURATION OF COURSE

One whole day (9.30 - 4.30 with breaks)

The course will identify and summarise professional roles in mental health practice and provide an introduction to the Care Programme Approach (CPA). There is a summary of relevant mental health legislation and guidance and will give a concise overview of the organisation of community mental health services for adults (18-65) including national policy objectives. The major severe and enduring mental illnesses are considered, with typical treatment regimes.

The course is designed to be a ‘stand alone’ course, but is also a useful foundation day for the Mental Health Pathway which you will find more details about on our website.

It will be a particular help to any professionals engaged in work with people who have mental health problems, in both the statutory and voluntary sectors. The course would also be of value to practitioners in other agencies who may be referring to or jointly working with Adult Mental Health Services.
