The Institute for Medical Research (IMR) is a state chartered
non profit, statutorily aligned with the Durham Veterans Affairs
Healthcare System. It's primary role is to administer research and
education funds from sources other than the Department of Veteran
Responsibilities: 1) provide overall leadership of the non
profit and its employees, 2) provide fiscal and budgetary oversight
and responsibility for hiring administrative staff and other
employees, 3) establish relationships and provide administrative
guidance for Durham VA Principal Investigators regarding the
administration of their research and/or education projects, 4)
provide oversight of annual audits and adhere to all rules
regarding audit requirements, 5) work with the Board of Directors
on outreach activities that include interaction with funding
sources for medical research and education.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 5 years experience
of progressively complex administrative experience.
Experience in accounting principles and the ability to use the
accounting software is required, as is proficiency with MS Office
software. Experience as an Executive Director of a non profit
corporation is strongly desired.
A federal background check is required. Position
is full time with a salary range of $75,000 - $100,000 to be
negotiated commensurate with experience.
